Frønningen is a beautiful hamlet located in the municipality of Lærdal,  Aurlandsfjord. The peninsula has its borders with areas belonging to Aurland and Lærdal. Mountain  Bleia with its 1717m height on the East-South-East part of the village and the forest belonging to Indre (Inner) Frønningen is part of the Nature Preserve and World Heritage area of the West Norwegian Fjords. There is no road connection from Frønningen to the main land, only access is by ferry from Kaupanger.
